Economic pressures have forced many companies throughout all industries to think hard about ways to increase profitability and be more competitive in the marketplace. Let's face it, it is much more cost effective for you to use someone elses technology and their equipment, rather than buying your own. Internet access and e-mail, together with computer aided design programs, have made it feasible to easliy share drawings with architects, engineers and contractors.
To be a CAD draughtsman you need:
~ knowledge of the practical application of engineering design principles
~ good numeracy and computer literacy skills good communication skills
~ an appreciation of material properties
~ an understanding of manufacturing processes & construction methods
~ good analytical skills
~ creative flair
~ to be able to work as part of a team and to deadlines.
I will be responsible for the complete design process of your works. This involves liaison with the design team and attending design meetings as required to produce roofing and cladding working drawings from architects, structural engineers and steelwork drawings. This will include plans, elevations and sectional details. It will also involve issuing drawings ‘for approval’, ‘construction’ and ‘as built’ as the project progresses. Following on from the approval of the drawings, I will then produce any necessary fabrication drawings required for gutters, rainwater pipes, fascias, soffits, etc. Careful consideration will always be given to the production of all material schedules, working to the agreed programme, to allow you sufficient time to procure these for fabrication and delivery to site.
I am experienced in detailing numerous cladding systems from traditional fibre cement, through to double skin profiled construction and composite panels to secret fix sheeting, Sarnafil single ply membrane and acoustic roofs.
Where necessary, I can also carry out existing site surveys for refurbishment or ‘strip and re-sheet’ projects.
Also, with alll projects detailed using AutoCAD 2006LT you can rest assured that all drawings can be promptly e-mailed to the complete design team for their comments at the earliest possible opportunity
We also have the facilities to laminate drawings and material schedules [up to A3 size] for your on-site workforce if required. This prevents drawings getting wet and creased in the weather conditions frequently experienced in this country !
